ESRC Future Research Leader Fellow, University of Edinburgh

I have over fifteen years working with children, first as a teacher, and then as an academic. My research focuses on the role of interaction in thinking, and the implications this has for early learning and new forms of technology. Last year I moved from the London Knowledge Lab, Institute of Education to Moray House School of Education, University of Edinburgh, having been awarded a Future Research Leader grant by the Economic Social Research Council. I have also been awarded a Chancellor Fellowship starting August 2013. My interests include the wider use of technology to support learning, in particular the digital making trend. I compliment my research with my role as the founder and director of a start-up that designs, builds, and sells novel learning technologies for young children.
